Letter Writing Campaign

The high cost of housing, food security, a living wage and public child care spaces are among those issues being addressed in a letter writing campaign which began in the spring of 2008 across the province by women of the United Church. Handwritten letters have been mailed to MLAs with a cc to the premier, the Hon. Janis Tarchuk, Minister of Children and Youth Services and leaders of the opposition.

“There is real grass roots power in letter writing,” maintains Hon. Clint Dunford, former PC MLA for Lethbridge-West. MLAs have been responding to writers and reading parts of some letters in the house.
