Southminster United Church in Lethbridge, Alberta

Transitional Minister Job Description

Southminster United Church in Lethbridge, Alberta, is seeking a renewed connection with the Spirit. To do this we are searching for an ordained minister to lead us through a term of transitional ministry.

We seek a leader to help us define the Church we are now and to discern a pathway to the church we hope to become.  Our goal is to create a shared vision for our church that will allow us to live out our mission as the hands and feet of Christ in a needy world and to offer this vision to the wider community.

We pray for a healer who will encourage us to come together and move forward.  We need someone who will motivate our congregation to participate in the life and work of the church in new ways as we transition from a ministerial team model to one of a single minister. We are currently in the process of restructuring our groups and committees so that members of the congregation will be inspired to use their unique gifts in the service of others.

While travelling through this period of change we will require strong worship leadership by someone with the gift to deliver challenging and relevant worship services as well as to offer other spiritual pursuits.

If this opportunity calls to you, please submit a resume and cover letter to Corinne Steele, Chair of the Joint Search Committee, 77 Salish Place, Lethbridge, AB, T1K 7X1, or emailed to c.steele@uleth.ca in PDF format. The position will remain open until the vacancy is filled, but it can commence immediately and will be for a negotiated term of 1-3 years.

In your resume please include previous experience you’ve had leading a church or group through transition or other relevant examples of your leadership through change.
